I have taught, and continue to teach a range of topics, including media history, visual culture, international communication, culture & technology, religion & society, and social theory.
I have supervised graduate students in various areas relating to my principal field of research interest — religion and media — and I welcome the opportunity to work with new students interested in this area of study.
I am especially interested in working with students who want to concentrate on one of the following topics:
- Paranormal and supernatural media
- Spiritualism in the nineteenth century
- Media and magic
- Religion and technology
- Iconoclasm and other ‘image wars’
- Religion, the body, and the senses
