For the 2017-18 academic year, I am in residence at the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study (NIAS) in Amsterdam, where I am working on (and hoping to complete!) my book project, “Picturing Aura” (for a brief description, see the “Projects” section of this website). On 14-15 Nov, I gave one of the keynote addresses to the conference, Looking Through the Occult, at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. The title of my presentation was: “On Mediumnic Lights, Xx Rays, and the Spirit who Photographed Herself”. You can listen to the audio transcript of my talk here.
